Arizona Red Rock Adventure
The rugged beauty of Arizona's Rim Country awaits you on this three-day excursion from Phoenix. Leave the bustling city behind for ancient Indian ruins, radiant red rock formations, and the awesome expanse of the Grand Canyon. - Day One: Depart your Phoenix hotel and head north to the Sinagua Indian Ruins of Montezuma's Castle. Join your guide on a short walk to explore the archaeological site and enjoy a picnic lunch in the shade of Sycamore trees along the creek. Next, we head to Sedona for an afternoon full of options; including jeep tours, horseback riding and hiking in Sedona's red rock country.
- Day Two: We get an early start to take advantage of a full day at Grand Canyon National Park. Travel through scenic Oak Creek Canyon and skirt around the 10,000-foot ancient San Francisco volcanic peaks en route to the park. At the south rim, learn how the Colorado River carved the immense canyon, and later enjoy hiking through one of the seven natural wonders of the world. After a full day in the canyon, we travel along the east rim for more views on the way back to Sedona.
- Day Three: Today we head back toward Phoenix, but not before a visit to the historic mining town of Jerome, on the slopes of Cleopatra Hill. Enjoy the eclectic mix of galleries and shops that have replaced Jerome's mining business. Take part in a tour of the Gold King Mine or simply stroll along the streets and enjoy the expansive view of the Verde Valley. The tour departs Jerome after lunch and will end in Phoenix by 5:00 pm.
