Our day-hike is a great way to experience the profound depth and wonder of the Grand Canyon with an extremely knowledgeable, experienced and certified guide. Our small group sizes ensure a fun, safe and intimate experience. The Grand Canyon Hike starts with pick-ups in Sedona and Flagstaff. After a beautiful drive through Oak Creek Canyon and the San Francisco Volcanic Field, we begin our hike at one of the best trails on the south rim. The Grand Canyon offers stupendous views from the edge, but to really appreciate its vastness, one must venture below the rim, through the layers formed through time, disinctly visible to the human eye. You will enjoy a complementary lunch, either in the Canyon itself, or along the rim, depending on the season. You’ll hike between three and five miles into the heart of Grand Canyon depending on the abilities of the group. Remember that Grand Canyon hiking is somewhat strenuous and you should be in fit condition. The elevation change will be approximately 1,000 feet (305 meters.) Please remember to bring adequate additional snacks. You’ll return to Sedona/Flagstaff in the evening, tired but thrilled with this incredible day. To make sure you are prepared for the hike, please follow these guidelines: 1. You must be able to hike a minimum of three miles 2. You must be able to carry a minimum of 2 quarts of water 3. You must be able to hike a 1000 foot elevetion change 4. You must be prepared for temperature extremes
